So my blogging has been sporadic at best, huh?? This month has just truly been nutso. After getting back from California, I was called in to work many more hours than normal, Mitch was gone for 2 separate business trips, we went camping, and now we're getting ready for Mitch to leave for a week starting tomorrow (he's chaperoning a SERVE trip with our church's youth group) and Lucas and I are headed to Sioux Falls to hang out with my family for Father's Day. Then next week I work full days again! Maybe, someday, things will be back to normal again!!

I have a ton of pictures to upload but haven't found the time yet, so be looking forward to those...someday!
One exciting bit is that we finally turned in our initial paperwork this week for adoption #2! Don't get too excited...the waiting continues as we basically had to start completely over (this floored me...I thought we would just have to update paperwork from the first time around but not the case). So now we wait for our initial application to be accepted, then we attend a one day class in mid-September, THEN do the homestudy. And then, hopefully by November, we'll officially be in the waiting pool again. Ah, the wonderful process. But hopefully it will ALL be worth it.
In the mean-time, Lucas is keeping us plenty entertained. His new trick for the week is climbing out of his crib. Oh joy! He stayed in there nicely for bed-time last night, so hopefully that continues to be the case!! I don't think I'm ready for a big-boy bed, but maybe later this summer??
How old were your kids when they were transitioned out of the crib? That's all for now...but happy Friday!

I've missed hearing from you, but am glad to know you've been having fun in your world travels :)
Wohoo for adoption #2! I'm so thrilled for you! I'm due in November, so who knows .. we could become moms again around the same time! We'll be transitioning Landon to a twin sized bed with rails right about when he hits a year ...whether he likes it or not, haha. I would say if Lucas is in the climbing stage, he might be ready! We just put Blaine in his toddler bed and he is almost 2.. He has done really well in it! He normally stays in it all night.. but you know Blaine is not ours and we only have him a few nights a week... at his house he sleeps with his mom... Yay for adopting again! I'm so excited to see what god has in store for you all! and I can't wait to see all the pics!
I miss your entries! Come back to us, Nette!
Johanna is still happy in her crib. She turns 1-3 times each night (full circles), so there's no way we could turn her crib into a toddler bed yet. She'd fall out!
I'll be praying and crossing my fingers you get a second little one soon!!!
Wow, that's great news! Adoption number 2, here you come! I'm amazed that you have to start from the ground up, too, though. You'd think it'd be more of an update and less of a from-scratch kind of thing. Anyway, glad you've been enjoying the craziness! It sounds like you've had some great things going on. Looking forward to pictures. :)
I had no idea you had to re-do all paperwork! Crazy! But still exciting because you never know how God will move.
Max started catapulting out of his crib around 16 months. Needless to say, he has been in a "big-boy" bed ever since. The transition was a little rough, but now it's great and there is no way he could go back in a crib even though he is just 2 years old.
Don't you just love adoption paperwork! All of our paperwork from Steven's adoption expired a few weeks before Michelle was due, so we had to redo everything :( The one thing that did change, though, was our self study. It was a whole different set of questions asking us about changes in our lives and about our kids and parenting. It was worth it, obviously, but it was a lot of paperwork. It didn't help that we had just weeks to finish it instead of months like most people.
I'll be praying for you guys as you go through the process again. How long did it take you to get matched with Lucas? What agency did/are you using? Have you had to put everything on hold since his position was eliminated?
@markandrebekah - Hi! I think we're still going to attend the Experienced Parents class in September that is required before re-doing the homestudy. But then I think we'll put it on hold if Mitch still doesn't have a job. But then again, if he has a new job by that time, we'll gladly continue as planned! From the time we started the process the first time to when we were chosen was 2 years (in the waiting pool for 14 months). We're with a pretty small agency (nebraska children's home) and the babies are only from Nebraska, so sometimes it can take a little longer, but we've been pleased with the agency.
